In this class you will learn how the concepts of Mindfulness can be applied to the writing and sketching process. Mindful writing and sketching supports you in realizing and understanding your unique strengths and vulnerabilities. This new level of self knowledge brings you the ability to make more thoughtful balanced choices, trust your intuitive guidance, and apply the wisdom acquired to create a happier and healthier life.

Mindfulness for Health and Happiness

Make a resolution to be more in charge of your health and happiness! Learn and practice the principles of Mindfulness, proven effective in reducing the mind/body symptoms of stress. In this 6 week course, Teri will explain Mindfulness and the science behind it. The class will include a variety of mindful exercises, including the classic mindfulness sitting meditation, with time allotted for reflection and sharing your experience with practice.

*Teri B. Racey, P.A., M.A., is a Physician Assistant with over four decades of experience in both clinical and academic medicine. She holds a Masters Degree in Spirituality and Healing in Medicine, from the University of Detroit Mercy. Teri, a strong advocate of prevention, also holds an bachelors degree in health education and taught Health Promotion Risk Reduction course work and the clinical year in the University of Detroit Mercy’s, Physician Assistant program.

Teri is the owner of the Illumined Heart, a health consulting company. Her most recent book, Master Your Storms, Master Your Life; Mindful Journaling and Sketching for Wisdom and Well-Being and New Mind New Body CD, represent two powerful ways that Teri promotes prevention and optimal health principles to those she serves.
